District Heating

With funding from NRCan, EcoPerth worked with the Town and local businesses and institutions to explore the possibilities for setting up a district heating system for the Town. A report was created that indicated that there was certainly potential for such a system, given all the old stone buildings in downtown that currently use boilers, as well as potential for accessing waste heat from local businesses, but without a private sector champion, this initiative did not get past the pre-feasibility study.
